my 480,a new toy,third time lucky

my third 480,bought three days ago,2.0 litre gt lookalike,alternator died yesterdy,but thankfully shes not the rot box the last two were?what do you think?

Hi, and welcome.

Car looks good. What'd ya pay for it?

As for the alternator - what has failed on it? It could just be the brushes/regulator need replacing. They are available from an auto electrical supplier. Take the brushes out and inspect them. It will be obvious if they are shot.

£320 with tax and test,i'd say alternator shot judging by smell

Good price - bargain!

I'd check the alternator brushes anyway - they are the things most likely to fail, and they are readily available.
